Teen Mentorship Program

Our Teen Mentorship Program is designed specifically for at-risk teens and is also open to other teens, including those who have faced challenges, trauma, or have been in trouble, as well as teens with special needs. These teens come from diverse backgrounds, and I recognize the importance of providing them with positive opportunities to grow, explore their potential, and build a better future.

I have combined my passion for photography and mentoring at-risk youth—because I was once an at-risk youth myself—using it as a tool to inspire, empower, and equip them with life-changing skills. (See "My Story" page for more.)

Through hands-on photography training, I not only teach them a valuable trade but also help them build confidence, strengthen decision-making skills, and develop social skills. More than just learning a skill, this program encourages teens to see their options, explore different perspectives, and discover new opportunities, allowing them to see the world in new ways and dream bigger.

In addition to photography, we provide entrepreneurial skills training and professional development, helping them understand how to turn their passions into opportunities. They learn the fundamentals of business, branding, customer service, and the mindset needed to create their own path. By exposing them to various industries, career opportunities, and real-world experiences, we help them break through limitations and envision a future filled with possibilities.

For at-risk teens (ages 15-18), we are proud to partner with Metro Community Ministries, Inc. to empower teens in our community through mentorship, hands-on learning, and emotional support. For teens and adults with intellectual disabilities, we partner with ThisAbility because everyone deserves the opportunity to learn new skills and explore their creative potential.

At the end of the program, each participant will receive a certificate, and they can progress at their own pace.

Support Our Mission

This free program is made possible through community support. If you have older cameras (Rebels, 5D, 6D, etc.) that you’re no longer using, or would like to donate to assist with supplies and outings for the teens, consider making a contribution to help equip these aspiring young photographers. Your support can make a direct impact on their journey!

Photography Training for Adults with Intellectual Disabilities

Separately, our ThisAbility Community Engagement program offers specialized photography training for adults with intellectual disabilities. This program is tailored to their interests and abilities, providing an inclusive and supportive environment where they can explore creativity, develop new skills, and gain confidence.
